President Donald Trump is scheduled to give a live national address from the White House at 9 p.m. on Wednesday. The president is expected to tout his administration’s accomplishments during the first year of his second term in office and to unveil some of his plans to “continue delivering for the American people.”
In a Tuesday statement on Truth Social, Trump said, “My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Tuesday that the president’s speech will be a “really good speech” that will highlight many of his accomplishments over the past 11 months of his administration.
“It’s going to be a really good speech. I was just in the Oval Office with the president discussing it,” Leavitt said. “He’s going to talk a lot about the accomplishments over the past 11 months, all that he’s done to bring our country back to greatness, and all he continues to plan to do to continue delivering for the American people over the next three years.”
Leavitt also gave a preview of the president’s speech during an interview with Fox News on Tuesday. The White House press secretary said Americans from across the country will have an opportunity to watch and listen to the president showcase the “historic accomplishments that he has garnered for our country over the past year.”
During her interview with Fox News, Leavitt pointed to Trump’s border security policies that reversed the illegal immigration crisis documented under former President Joe Biden’s administration, Trump’s efforts to tackle inflation, and Trump’s policies that have resulted in gas prices hitting a five-year low as examples of the president’s many achievements in his first year in office.
“President Trump will be talking about what’s to come. The best is truly yet to come, as he often says,” Leavitt told Fox News. “He’ll be addressing the country about all of his historic accomplishments over the past year, and maybe teasing some policy that will be coming in the new year as well.”
