A “No Kings” protest against President Donald Trump in Los Angeles turned into a riot on Saturday as protesters refused to disperse and engaged in violent clashes with law enforcement officials. At least one left-wing protester was arrested by law enforcement officials during the riot.

According to ABC 7, while thousands of protesters peacefully engaged in a “No Kings” protest in Los Angeles during the day on Saturday, a riot started at night as protesters refused to leave the area. The outlet noted that the Los Angeles Police Department formed a skirmish line and gave protesters two orders to disperse from the area.

In a Saturday statement on X, formerly Twitter, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division announced that nearly 100 rioters marched in Los Angeles following the peaceful protest during the day. The department also confirmed that law enforcement officials were targeted with lasers and flashing lights.

“After thousands of people gathered to express their constitutional 1st Amendment rights peacefully earlier in the day, nearly a hundred agitators marched over to Aliso and Alameda,” the Los Angeles Police Department stated. “During the demonstration at that specific location, lasers and industrial size flashing lights (constant and strobe) were used against officers and the pilot of an LAPD Airship.”

The Los Angeles Police Department added, “A Dispersal Order was issued and the demonstrators were dispersed from the area.”

A video shared on social media shows rioters clashing with law enforcement officials. The rioters can be heard shouting explicit comments at the officials and can be seen repeatedly pushing against the Los Angeles Police Department’s skirmish line.
