The suspect responsible for killing two children and injuring 17 people during Wednesday’s shooting at Annunciation Catholic School’s mass at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been identified as a transgender male who changed his name as a minor. The transgender shooter’s rifle magazines included threats to “Kill Donald Trump.”

In a Wednesday statement on X, formerly Twitter, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that the shooter, who has been identified as Robin Westman, was a 23-year-old male “claiming to be transgender.”

“This deranged monster targeted our most vulnerable: young children praying in their first morning Mass of the school year. This deeply sick murderer scrawled the words ‘For the Children’ and ‘Where is your God?’ and ‘Kill Donald Trump’ on a rifle magazine,” Noem said.

“This level of violence is unthinkable. Our deepest prayers are with the children, parents, families, educators, and Christians everywhere,” Noem added. “We mourn with them, we pray for healing, and we will never forget them.”

Journalist Nick Sortor shared pictures of court records that show the schooter’s name was Robert Westman until he changed his name as a minor to Robin Westman in 2020. The court records show that Westman’s parents signed off on his name change due to his status as a minor at the time.

A video shared by Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, shows the transgender school shooter displaying firearms and gun magazines with statements such as “Kill Donald Trump,” “Kill Trump now,” “For the children,” “I’m the Woker, baby, Why so serious,” “6 million was not enough,” “Burn Israel,” and “Where is your God,” written on them prior to Wednesday’s shooting. The video also features a target with a picture of Jesus on it.

An Annunciation Catholic School yearbook obtained by CNN shows that Westman graduated from the school in 2017. The outlet noted that social media posts also indicate that Westman’s mother worked at the Catholic school from 2016 to 2021.

In a manifesto viewed by The New York Post, Westman wrote, “I am feeling good about Annunciation. It seems like a good combo of easy attack form and devastating tragedy and I want to do more research. I have concerns about finding a large enough group. I want to avoid any parents, but pre and post school drop off.”

“Maybe I could attack an event at the on-site church,” Westman added. “I think attacking a large group of kids coming in from recess is my best plan … Then from there I can go inside and kill, going for as long as I can.”
