The home of two active-duty U.S. Space Force officers was allegedly vandalized and set on fire on Sunday in Washington, D.C.

According to a GoFundMe page established following Sunday’s fire, Jason Taylor and Kaylee Taylor are two active-duty members of the U.S. Space Force. The couple, who have a young daughter, lost most of their belongings as a result of the vandalism and targeted fire incident.

“On Sunday, December 28, Kaylee and Jason’s home in Washington, DC was the site of an unimaginable tragedy,” the GoFundMe page states. “While they were out of town, their home was broken into, robbed, vandalized, and intentionally set on fire.”

“Kaylee and Jason—both active-duty members of the U.S. Space Force—and their beautiful baby girl, Rae, lost pretty much everything they owned,” the GoFundMe page adds. “From clothing and furniture to baby items, keepsakes, and essentials—nothing was spared.”

A picture shared Thursday by Alex Lorusso on X, formerly Twitter, shows Jason and Kaylee Taylor with their young daughter. Lorusso claimed that in addition to the fire, the Space Force officers’ car was vandalized with spray paint messages, including “F-ck the Space Force” and “F-ck Trump.”

The GoFundMe page established to help the two U.S. Space Force members and their daughter notes that the family’s cat was also killed in the fire and explains that while the family was not at home at the time the house was set on fire on Sunday and is “physically safe,” the “emotional toll” the family is dealing with is “overwhelming.”

“We are incredibly grateful that Kaylee, Jason, and Rae were not home at the time and are physically safe,” the GoFundMe page states. “However, they are now faced with the daunting task of starting over completely from nothing.”

According to the GoFundMe page, any funds raised to support the Taylor family will be used to replace the family’s basic necessities destroyed in the fire, provide temporary housing and living expenses for the family, and assist in the rebuilding of the family’s lives in the aftermath of the house fire. As of Friday morning, over $86,000 had been raised for the two U.S. Space Force members and their young daughter.
