Left-wing news gives Trump fantastic nickname after federalizing DC

A left-wing news host accidentally gave President Donald Trump a “super cool” nickname on Monday while slamming the president over his decision to federalize the Metro Police Department and deploy the National Guard in Washington, D.C.

On Monday night, Abby Phillip, the host of “CNN NewsNight,” nicknamed Trump Batman while introducing a topic during a roundtable discussion of the president’s efforts to crack down on crime in D.C.

“Let’s get right to what America is talking about,” Phillip stated. “Donald Trump makes himself Batman, and the nation’s capital is Gotham City. The president of the United States has declared himself crime-fighter-in-chief, and he’s taking over Washington’s police force. It is a move that the D.C. Mayor is calling ‘unsettling and unprecedented.’”

Steve Guest, a conservative commentator, wrote, “That makes President Trump sound SUPER COOL! Don’t think that was Abby’s intention at all.”

In response to a video clip of the CNN host’s comments, one social media user shared an artificial intelligence-generated photo of Trump as Batman and Vice President J.D. Vance as Robin, saying, “I voted for this.”

Commenting on Monday’s video, the “Libs of TikTok” social media account tweeted, “I already voted for him! You don’t have to keep convincing me!”

One social media user claimed that the CNN host’s comments about Trump and D.C. showed that the host was “stumbling upon truth.” Another social media user tweeted, “@abbydphillip doesn’t realize we voted for this! I love the Batman reference.”

In another video shared by Guest, a young boy can be heard asking Trump if he is Batman, prompting Trump to say, “I am Batman.”

Philipp’s comment regarding the D.C. mayor’s description of Trump’s decision to federalize D.C. comes after a Monday press conference, in which D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said, “While this action today is unsettling and unprecedented, I can’t say that given some of the rhetoric of the past, that we're totally surprised.”
