A new report claims that a Democrat whistleblower who worked as an intelligence officer for members of the House Intelligence Committee repeatedly warned the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) approved the leaking of classified information to undermine President Donald Trump with the discredited Russian collusion narrative.
According to Just The News, documents recently presented to Congress by FBI Director Kash Patel reveal that an unnamed whistleblower started warning the FBI in 2017 regarding Schiff’s approval of classified intelligence leaks to hurt Trump. The outlet noted that the whistleblower described the classified leaking as “treasonous,” “illegal,” and “unethical.”
Just The News reported that the Democrat whistleblower was told not to worry about the classified leaks since Schiff, who was a U.S. representative at the time, believed he would not be prosecuted under the speech and debate clause of the Constitution.
According to Just The News, the whistleblower was last interviewed in 2023 by the FBI and informed the FBI’s St. Louis field office that he was at a meeting where the Democrat lawmaker approved the leaking of classified information.
“When working in this capacity, [redacted staffer’s name] was called to an all-staff meeting by SCHIFF,” the FBI’s interview report stated. “In this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP. SCHIFF stated the information would be used to indict President TRUMP.”
The FBI’s interview report explained that the Democrat whistleblower “stated this would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured that they would not be caught leaking classified information.”
According to Just The News, the whistleblower also reportedly claimed that he was fired because Schiff’s staff questioned his “party loyalty” after he presented concerns regarding the Democrat lawmaker’s plan to leak classified information to hurt Trump.
In a statement to Just The News, Patel said, “For years, certain officials used their positions to selectively leak classified information to shape political narratives. It was all done with one purpose: to weaponize intelligence and law enforcement for political gain.”
“Those abuses eroded public trust in our institutions,” the FBI director added. “The FBI will now lead the charge, with our partners at DOJ, and Congress will have the chance to uncover how political power may have been weaponized and to restore accountability.”
In a social media statement following Monday’s report, Patel said, “We found it. We declassified it. Now Congress can see how classified info was leaked to shape political narratives - and decide if our institutions were weaponized against the American people.”
