$3,752 tax cut under Trump's 'One Big Beautiful Bill' impacts average Americans

The White House announced on Friday that U.S. citizens in “all 50 states” will see a tax cut following President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which was signed into law on July 4.   

In an article published on Friday on the White House’s website, the Trump administration confirmed that the average American taxpayer will receive a tax cut of $3,752 under the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” The White House cited a new analysis by the Tax Foundation as evidence that the legislation the president championed through Congress will significantly decrease taxes for most Americans. 

The Tax Foundation’s analysis determined that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) “makes the most significant legislative changes” to the government’s federal tax policy since the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was passed during Trump’s first term in office.

“We estimate the OBBBA will reduce federal taxes on average for individual taxpayers in every state,” the Tax Foundation stated. “Across all individual tax filers throughout the country, the average tax cut per taxpayer will be $3,752 in 2026.” 

In addition to cutting taxes, the Tax Foundation suggested that the legislation will also create roughly 938,000 “full-time equivalent jobs over the long run.”

The White House emphasized that the provisions in Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” such as tax breaks for American manufacturing, tax cuts for small businesses, an expanded child tax credit, and no tax on tips, overtime, and social security, are a “cornerstone” of the 47th president’s economic agenda. The White House noted that the legislation is leading to historic investments in the United States, reducing inflation, and increasing blue-collar wages for Americans.
