President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), were recorded reuniting, shaking hands, and talking together during Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk’s memorial at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday.
A video shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Fox News shows the president and the former DOGE head shaking hands and talking together in a box suite at the conservative activist’s memorial service.
Andrew Kolvet, a Turning Point USA spokesman and the executive producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” shared a picture of Trump and Musk sitting together on Sunday.
“Charlie so badly wanted these two men to come back together,” Kolvet tweeted. “I hope they’re saying to each other, ‘For Charlie.’”
Less than two hours after Kolvet’s tweet, Musk shared another picture of himself sitting next to the president, alongside the caption, “For Charlie.”
Later in the evening, the White House shared a third photo of Trump sitting with Musk at Kirk’s memorial service. “POTUS x @ElonMusk,” the White House tweeted. “For Charlie.”
The video and pictures of Trump and Musk reuniting at Kirk’s memorial service come after a public feud between the two leaders erupted earlier this year over the president’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” At the time, Musk criticized Trump over the bill and threatened to create a new political party.
In June, Kirk shared a statement on social media expressing his desire for Trump and Musk to reconcile after their sharp disagreement over the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
“President Trump built this movement over 10 years. His supporters are NOT going anywhere,” Kirk tweeted. “I hope Elon and Trump reconcile and do so privately. It would be good for the country and the world if they do.”
In an interview on “The Ingraham Angle,” Kirk claimed that while it was hard to watch the public feud between Trump and Musk, he believed they were “going to reconcile at some point.”
Asked by reporters on Air Force One regarding whether his reunion with Musk was due to Kirk’s desire for the two to be reconciled, Trump said, “Well, Elon came over and said hello, and no, it’s nothing to do with that. I thought it was nice that he came over. Had a little conversation. We had a very good relationship, but it was nice that he came over.”
On Monday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) shared a picture of a news article on Trump and Musk’s appearance together at Kirk’s memorial on Sunday. In a caption to the photo, Johnson wrote, “Among the themes yesterday were unity, forgiveness, and patriotism. Powerful!”
