Multiple anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protesters linked to Antifa were arrested on Tuesday night outside the Federal Building in Eugene, Oregon.
The Eugene Police Department confirmed that protesters held a demonstration at the Federal Building at roughly 2:00 p.m. Police officials noted that the Federal Building was vacated at roughly 12:00 p.m. and officially closed at 5:00 p.m.
“Shortly after sunset, approximately 60 individuals were present with many wearing Black Bloc-style clothing—including dark attire, masks, gas masks, helmets, and protective eyewear—gathered outside the Federal Building at 211 E. 7th Avenue,” the Eugene Police Department stated. “Participants were seen throwing objects at Federal Protective Service (FPS) agents, who were on site to protect federal employees and government property. Property was also damaged and defaced during the incident.”
According to The Post Millennial, Tuesday’s protesters in Eugene were linked to Antifa, which was designated as a domestic terrorist organization by President Donald Trump this week. The outlet noted that protesters blocked entrances and exits at the Federal Building, pounded on the windows and doors of the building, and surrounded the building.
A video shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows Antifa protesters blocking the entrances to the building and surrounding the property.
The Post Millennial reported that Department of Homeland Security sources confirmed that employees were forced to find alternative exits from the building due to the presence of the Antifa protesters. Sources also claimed that at least one person was assaulted by the protesters, while journalists were also pushed out of the way by the protesters.
According to The Post Millennial, the Antifa protesters chanted messages against ICE officials and demanded that the federal agency be abolished. After multiple hours of the protest, the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service ICE Special Response Team officials started making arrests. The Post Millennial reported that three individuals were arrested during the protest.
Sharing a video of law enforcement officials confronting the protesters and arresting multiple individuals, Katie Daviscourt, a reporter for The Post Millennial, tweeted, “Antifa terrorists and far-left extremists have been attempting to siege the building.”
