The corporate media was noticeably silent over the weekend after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani extended his arm in an almost identical move to tech billionaire Elon Musk's alleged "Nazi salute" that made headlines last year.
Conservatives reacted to the media's silence, accusing legacy outlets of applying a double-standard.
"Not a single one of these legacy media outlets reported on Mamdani’s identical hand gesture which they called @elonmusk a nazi for Do you see what’s happening?" Libs of TikTok, a popular right-wing X account, posted on Friday.
Throughout the 2024 presidential race, numerous left-wing figures insisted President Donald Trump and his supporters were fascists, even going so far as to accuse the president of being Hitler reborn.
During a speech to Trump supporters last year, Musk was accused of raising a Nazi salute to those in attendance. The gesture was not a Nazi salute, but rather a playful wave to the crowd. Musk later mocked those who pushed the false narrative.
"Apparently, I’m a Zionist AND a Nazi," Musk posted sarcastically on X.
