President Donald Trump slammed birthright citizenship as a scam that turns Americans into “SUCKERS” as the case challenging Trump’s order to end the antiquated policy makes it’s way through the Supreme Court.

During his first day in office, Trump issued an order that sought to protect “the meaning and value of American citizenship” by blocking the anchor-baby system that has wreaked havoc on the United States for years. 

Under Trump’s order, children born in the United States are not automatically granted citizenship if their mother was “unlawfully present” or “lawful but temporary,” and their father was not a citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Three federal judges stopped the order from taking effect, ultimately leading to the Supreme Court’s involvement.

“Birthright Citizenship was not meant for people taking vacations to become permanent Citizens of the United States of America, and bringing their families with them, all the time laughing at the ‘SUCKERS’ that we are!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. 

Trump said the United States is the “only country in the world” that offers birthright citizenship to foreigners, adding that “nobody knows” the reason, but the “drug cartels love it!”

“We are, for the sake of being politically correct, a STUPID Country but, in actuality, this is the exact opposite of being politically correct, and it is yet another point that leads to the dysfunction of America,” Trump continued. “Birthright Citizenship is about the babies of slaves. As conclusive proof, the Civil War ended in 1865, the Bill went to Congress less than a year later, in 1866, and was passed shortly after that. It had nothing to do with Illegal Immigration for people wanting to SCAM our Country, from all parts of the World, which they have done for many years.”

Trump appears to be referring to the 14th Amendment, which was proposed by Congress in 1866 and ratified in 1868.

The 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause states

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The clause was intended to secure citizenship for freed slaves and their descendants, effectively overturning the 1857 Dred Scott v. Sandford decision, which denied citizenship to black Americans.

“It had to do with Civil War results, and the babies of slaves who our politicians felt, correctly, needed protection,” Trump added. “Please explain this to the Supreme Court of the United States. Again, remember, the Civil War ended in 1865, and the Bill goes to Congress in 1866 — We didn’t have people pouring into our Country from all over South America, and the rest of the World. It wasn’t even a subject. What we had were the BABIES OF SLAVES. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Good luck with this very important case. GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.!”
