Trump’s new $3 billion idea supports blue-collar workers

President Donald Trump threatened to take $3 billion in federal grant money from “very antisemitic” Harvard and give it to trade schools across the country. 

“I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!”

It is unclear how the funding would be distributed to trade schools. 

Trump’s comments come days after his administration announced plans to block the elite school’s ability to enroll foreign students. Harvard enrolled almost 7,000 international students – roughly 27% of its student body - during the 2024-2025 school year. 

The Trump administration’s focus on Harvard ramped up after pro-Palestinian student protests impacted Jewish students on campus.

“Harvard’s ongoing inaction in the face of repeated and severe harassment and targeting of its students has at times grounded day-to-day campus operations to a halt, deprived Jewish students of learning and research opportunities to which they are entitled, and profoundly alarmed the general public,” a letter from the General Services Administration (GSA) stated, asking all federal agencies to end or transition contracts with Harvard and its affiliates.

Trump said his administration is “still waiting” for Harvard’s list of foreign students “so that we can determine, after a ridiculous expenditure of BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, how many radicalized lunatics, troublemakers all, should not be let back into our Country.”

“Harvard is very slow in the presentation of these documents, and probably for good reason! The best thing Harvard has going for it is that they have shopped around and found the absolute best Judge (for them!) - But have no fear, the Government will, in the end, WIN!” Trump added.  

On Friday, a federal judge temporarily blocked Trump’s order preventing Harvard from enrolling foreign students.
