President Donald Trump announced a “complete and total ceasefire” between Israel and Iran on Monday just two days after the United States successfully executed a covert operation targeting Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran and Israel agreed to a ceasefire on Monday, Trump revealed, bringing an end to the “12 Day War.”
“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
“Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World,” he continued.
Trump said each side will remain “peaceful and respectful” during each ceasefire and congratulated both nations “on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’”
President Trump noted that the war “could have gone on for years,” bringing chaos and destruction to the Middle East, but it “never will.”
“God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!” Trump concluded.
The historic ceasefire was agreed upon after B-2 Spirit stealth bomber pilots dropped 14 30,000-pound bombs on two underground nuclear sites in Iran over the weekend.
U.S. officials dubbed the mission Operation Midnight Hammer, noting that it was the "largest B-2 operational strike in U.S. history."
“This is a plan that took months and weeks of positioning and prep so that we could be ready when the president called,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters at the Pentagon. “It took a great deal of precision — It involved misdirection and the highest of operational security. Our B2s went in & out without the world knowing.”
