Reopen Alcatraz: Trump unleashes epic plan to crush crime
President Donald Trump unleashed a bold new plan on Sunday to rebuild and reopen the infamous island prison Alcatraz.
Located off the coast of San Francisco, California, the prison turned tourist trap began as the most heavily fortified military site on the West Coast, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. In the 1850s, military prisoners were held on the island. The U.S. Army eventually transferred control of Alcatraz to the Department of Justice, and it continued operating as a prison until 1963, housing the most dangerous criminals in the country. Over a mile from shore and surrounded by icy, shark-infested waters, Alcatraz is considered “escape-proof.”
“REBUILD, AND OPEN ALCATRAZ! For too long, America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat Criminal Offenders, the dregs of society, who will never contribute anything other than Misery and Suffering,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump said the United States used to be a “more serious Nation” that “did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals” to keep them away from potential innocent victims.
“That’s the way it’s supposed to be. No longer will we tolerate these Serial Offenders who spread filth, bloodshed, and mayhem on our streets,” Trump continued.
The president said he directed the Bureau of Prisons, as well as the Department of Justice, the FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen “a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ.”
Trump said the newly renovated prison would “house America’s most ruthless and violent Offenders.”
“We will no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and Judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals, who came into our Country illegally,” Trump added.
“The reopening of ALCATRAZ will serve as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Rebuilding Alcatraz isn’t just about locking up the worst criminals – it’s about sending a message that Americans are done with lawlessness. It will be the ultimate symbol of justice. Criminals are no longer welcome in the United States of America.
